What is Incredible Years®?

The Incredible Years® Parent Programs is an evidence-based program grounded in more than 30 years of research by Dr. Carolyn Stratton, M.S., M.P.H., Ph.D. out of the University of Washington’s Parenting Clinic.

Through the program, parents will develop the tools they need to support their child in improving their social and emotional regulation skills, and in building pre-academic skills, increasing school readiness. Parents also learn strategies to increase positive behaviors and decrease challenging ones, strengthening the parent-child relationship.

South Bay Behavioral Solutions and Assessment is currently offering three parenting programs to choose from: the Toddler Parenting Program, Preschool Parenting Program, and the Autism Spectrum and Language Delays Parenting Program.

What Can I Expect?

The Incredible Years® parent programs are weekly, facilitator-led group sessions where parents come together not only to learn the material, but also to discuss their own experiences and collaborate on solutions within the frameworks provided by the Incredible Years curriculum.

Each session covers a different topic, and includes video examples of the teachings applied in real-life situations, practice exercises, and group discussions and problem solving.

Parents can also expect regular 1:1 check-ins with the facilitator for personalized support.

Sessions are held virtually via video chat.
